Khuzdul

The language of the Dwarves, which they rarely taught to outsiders (LotR/1132). It is attested mostly in the names of locations, since the Dwarves did not share their personal names from their own language with non-Dwarves. It is unrelated to the other languages of Middle-earth, ultimately derived from a language created for the Dwarves by Aulë, though Khuzdul did influence the languages of Men (LR/178). Tolkien designed it to be similar to the Semitic languages, in particular Hebrew (PE17/85).
