N. Sethnoss pn. “Firstborn, Elves”
A rejected term for the Elves as Firstborn of Iluvator (EtyAC/SET), a combination of (rejected) seth “first” and noss “clan”. The Sindarin form of this term did not appear in Tolkien’s later writing, though the inverse term S. Abonnen “After-born” for Men did appear.
