S. Thuringud m. “Hidden Foe”
A name that Túrin assumed in Nargothrond translated “Hidden Foe” (WJ/256), a combination of thurin “secret, hidden” and the lenited form of cûd “foe”, the latter element suggested by Patrick Wynne (VT49/25).
