Ilk. [v] ‹v,f›

Ilk. [v] ‹v,f›

The voiced labial spirant developed from primitive [b] after vowels, and also medially from the voiceless labial spirant [f] (PE19/23), which itself developed from the primitive aspirate [pʰ]. As such, it could not appear at the beginning of an Ilkorin word. Note that orthographically, a final “f” represents [v] in Ilkorin as it does in Sindarin.
