ᴺS. !log- v. “to haul, drag” (Category: to Draw, Pull)

ᴺS. !log-, v. “to haul, drag” (Category: to Draw, Pull)
G. halm “draught, draft, drawing (of fishes etc.)”
G. elta- “to draw, tug, lug; to thrust, dig, poke (inward)”
G. log- “to curl (intr.), bend (intr.), wind (twine round anything), twine”

A neologism coined by Paul Strack in 2018 specifically for Eldamo to replace G. hala- of similar meaning, based on the later root √LUK “haul, drag” (PE17/28).

G. hal(a)- v. “to drag, draw, pull” (Category: to Draw, Pull)

A verb in the Gnomish Lexicon of the 1910s glossed “drag, draw, pull, (espec. draw home, pull towards oneself, draw on or over, of clothes, etc.), slip on” (GL/47). Its derivation is unclear, since the only similar early root in the contemporaneous Qenya Lexicon is ᴱ√HALA whose derivatives had to do with leaping (QL/39).

Neo-Sindarin: For purposes of Neo-Sindarin, I would instead use the neologisms ᴺS. log- “to haul, drag” and ᴺS. thag- “to draw, pull”; see those entries for details.
