An unglossed root in the Qenya Lexicon of the 1910s with derivatives like ᴱQ. taule “pillar” and ᴱQ. tauma “basis, foundation, ground floor” (QL/90). In Tolkien’s later writing, this sense seems have been assigned to √TALAM.
