Ilk. gelu adj. “(pale) blue”

Ilk. gelu adj. “(pale) blue”

A Doriathrin adjective meaning “(pale) blue” derived from the root ᴹ√ƷEL (Ety/ƷEL), probably from a primitive form *✶ʒelwā [ɣelwā] based on its cognates. If so, the initial [ɣ] became [g], the primitive final [a] vanished, after which the final [w] became [u]. These developments were noted by Helge Fauskanger (AL-Doriathrin/gelu).
