ᴱN. ennion n. “porter, doorkeeper” (Category: Door, Gate)
A word for a “porter, doorkeeper” in Early Noldorin Word-lists of the 1920s, a combination of ᴱN. ann “door” and the (1920s) agental suffix ᴱN. -ion, which caused i-affection in the preceding element.
Conceptual Development: In the Gnomish Lexicon of the 1910s Tolkien had G. tarnon “porter”, an agental formation from G. tarn “gate” (GL/69).
