ᴺQ. !tungwë n. “tax” (Category: Tax)
A neologism for “tax” coined by Helge Fauskanger for his Neo-Quenya New Testament (NQNT), perhaps derived from *tuk-mē based on √TUK “draw”. Fauskanger also used an agental form ᴺQ. tungwemo “tax-collector” as well ᴺQ. tungwemen “tax-office”. I’ve seen a couple other neologism for “tax”, such as ᴺQ. hótocië and ᴺQ. túrëautocië both based on the verb [ᴱQ.] toc- “appraise, tax, assess, assay”, but I adopted tungwë for “tax” early in my Quenya writings and am unwilling to give it up.
