ᴹQ. -ar(yas) suf. “-day” (Category: Day)

⚠️ᴹQ. -ar(yas), suf. “-day” (Category: Day)
Q. aurë “day (as opposed to night), [time of] daylight, ⚠️morning, sunlight, [ᴱQ.] sunshine, gold light, warmth”

A suffixal form of arya “day” used in Demonstrative, Relative, and Correlative Stems (DRC) from 1948 in adverbs of time such as sinar(yas) “today, this day” and umanar(yas) “someday; in a certain day” (PE23/108-109). Its short form -ar was less precise (umanar = “someday”) whereas the longer form with short locative -s was more specific (umanaryas = “in a certain day”). A final hint of this suffix can be seen in ai tulinye sinar (entar) “I may come today (tomorrow)” in notes from the early 1950s, but the paragraph where it appeared was deleted (PE22/139 note #48).

Neo-Quenya: For purposes of Neo-Quenya, I would update these 1948 adverbs to use aurë “day” to be more compatible with he later writings, as in ᴺQ. umaurë “someday”.
