ᴺQ. !haita- v. “to remove, (lit.) make distant” (Category: to Take)
A neologism for “remove” created by Petri Tikka in Parma Penyanë Quettaron (PPQ) from the early 2000s as a causative verb based on the root ᴹ√KHAY “distant”, so more literally “make distant”. In the 2018 1000 Words project (1000W), Sami Paldanius instead suggested ᴺQ. aucol- “remove” as a combination of au- “away” and col-, so more literally “to bear away”. I have a slight preference for haita- myself.
