S. Orgilion n. “*Star-day, Saturday” (Category: Saturday)

S. Orgilion, n. “*Star-day, Saturday” (Category: Saturday)

The Sindarin word for “*Star-day”, a combination of or- “day” and an elaboration (archaic genitive plural?) of gil “star” (LotR/1110). By aligning the Númenórean seven-day week with the modern English week, this is the equivalent of “*Saturday”.

Conceptual Development: Drafts of The Lord of the Rings appendices had {Argiliath >>} Argilion with the earlier prefix ar- (PM/130).
