S. whest n. “breeze, puff” (Category: Breeze)

S. whest, n. “breeze, puff, [N.] breath” (Category: Breeze)
ᴱN. blith “breeze, [G.] zephyr; air”

A word for “puff, breeze” appearing in notes on the Common Eldarin Article (CEA) from 1969, with an archaic form chwest in parentheses and a definite plural form of i·chwist (PE23/139). This was an example for the nasal mutation based on from words beginning with ancient sw, so was likely based on ancient *swestā and cognate to hwesta from The Lord of the Rings (LotR/1123).

Conceptual Development: The Etymologies of the 1930s had N. chwest “puff, breath, breeze” < ON. hwesta under the root ᴹ√SWES “noise of blowing or breathing” (Ety/SWES).
